Pricing and billing

How much does bulk SMS cost in Nepal with this service?

Each SMS credit costs NPR 0.90 to NPR 0.60, excluding 13% VAT, depending on how many SMS you send a month. Six published tiers set the rate. There is no monthly fee, no setup fee and no contract, so you pay only for the credits you use.

Is VAT included in the price?

No. Every published rate excludes 13% VAT, which is added on your invoice. For example, NPR 0.90 per SMS becomes NPR 1.017 with VAT.

What counts as one SMS credit?

One message segment delivered to one recipient uses one credit. A plain English message up to 160 characters is one segment. Longer messages split into segments of 153 characters, and each segment is one credit.

Do I pay for messages that fail?

No. Credits for a failed message are refunded to your balance. Each message carries a delivery status, so you can see which numbers did not receive it.

Sending and delivery

Which mobile networks in Nepal can I send to?

You can send to numbers on NTC, Ncell and Smart Telecom from one account. You do not need a separate arrangement with each network.

Can I send SMS in Nepali?

Yes. Nepali in Devanagari script is supported. Unicode messages fit 70 characters in one segment, and longer ones split into segments of 67 characters, so a Nepali message uses more credits than the same length in English.

How long can one message be?

One send can carry up to 2,000 characters. It reaches the phone as a single joined message and is billed by the number of segments it uses.

How do I know a message was delivered?

Every message has a status: queued, sent, delivered, undelivered or failed. You can see it in the dashboard and through the API, and you can receive signed webhooks when a message is delivered or fails.

Account, KYC and sender ID

How do I open an account?

Send your details through the contact form. Every account completes KYC with personal or business documents, and sending is enabled after a reviewer approves it, usually within 2 to 3 business days.

Is there a free trial?

Approved accounts receive 5 free SMS credits for personal accounts or 10 for organizations. For the first 7 days after approval an account can send up to 50 SMS a day, only to numbers verified by OTP.

Can I send under my own brand name?

Yes. You can request a branded alphanumeric sender ID of up to 11 characters. Until it is approved for your account, messages go out under a shared default sender ID.

API and integration

Do you have an SMS API?

Yes. A REST API with JSON requests and an API key in a header. One request can carry up to 1,000 recipients, and you can make up to 120 requests a minute.

Can I safely retry an API request?

Yes. Send an idempotency key with the request and a retry with the same key is processed only once, so a network timeout never sends the same message twice.

Rules and consent

Do I need consent to send promotional SMS in Nepal?

Yes. Nepal's Advertisement (Regulation) Act 2076 does not allow advertisements by SMS without the recipient's consent, with fines of up to NPR 100,000. Collect opt-in before sending offers and include a way to opt out. This is general information, not legal advice.
